Hi All,

As you may or may not be aware we have been advertising for a new professor in planning to join us and lead the group here at King's, replacing 80% of Maria and Derek.  The candidates will be here next Thursday to each give a talk so we will use this to replace our planning group meeting.  I'd strongly encourage you all to make the time to attend this, as it's an opportunity for you to find out whom you might be working with; but also it gives a positive and welcoming impression to the candidates, who are eminent researchers in our field and whom we would really like to join us.
