Fwd: AIS Seminars: "Computational Persuasion: What is the best next argument?"
Hi everyone, This is a joint AIS-Planning seminar (which is why it’s in our planning slot!), relevant to planning as Emmanuel is interested in determining policies to guide strategic argumentation. Details of the talk below. Speaker: Emmanuel Hadoux Title: Computational Persuasion: What is the best next argument? Abstract: Unlike traditional abstract argumentation, working on set of argumentation without any notion of temporality, strategic argumentation works on dialogues. In this context, different agents interact by exchanging arguments, in turn. In computational persuasion, we stand in the point of view of one of the agents, trying to have the other one(s) to believe or do something. This is common in, for instance, a political debate or a behaviour change situation (a doctor and a patient). During this talk, we will see how to mix argumentation theory and decision theory and how to compute a policy, the best argument to play in any state of the dialogue. The goal is to maximize the probability to persuade the other agent (the opponent/user/persuadee) under different constraints (knowledge, goal, computational limitations, etc.) RSVP: http://nms.kcl.ac.uk/ais/seminars/events/attend/OA%3D%3D<http://nms.kcl.ac.uk/ais/seminars/ais/seminars/events/attend/Nw%3D%3D> For details of upcoming seminars, and to subscribe to our events calendar, please visit our webpage: https://nms.kcl.ac.uk/ais/seminars/ <https://nms.kcl.ac.uk/ais/seminars/> The Faculty of Natural & Mathematical Sciences at King’s College London has a Code of Conduct which we expect participants at our events to abide by.
