Details of the talk below. Speaker: Emmanuel Hadoux Title: Computational Persuasion: What is the best next argument? Abstract: Unlike traditional abstract argumentation, working on set of argumentation without any notion of temporality, strategic argumentation works on dialogues. In this context, different agents interact by exchanging arguments, in turn. In computational persuasion, we stand in the point of view of one of the agents, trying to have the other one(s) to believe or do something. This is common in, for instance, a political debate or a behaviour change situation (a doctor and a patient). During this talk, we will see how to mix argumentation theory and decision theory and how to compute a policy, the best argument to play in any state of the dialogue. Unfortunately, I seem to have misplaced the piece of paper where we wrote all of these details. Hi all, We should coordinate on this. Please let me know who wants to be involved (as we need to put names in the Intent to Participate). I have 3 first-year students from IAI who want to join the team! And by the way it’s great to see how ROSPlan is becoming popular :-) Fares, what’s the schedule for the next planning meetings? We are not meeting next week, then Andrea Micheli is speaking on the 20th (although I think we need to check the time as I have in my agenda the Departmental Staff meeting at 2pm). PS. Just finished an extremely intense week in San Diego, where I’m been teaching PDDL and injecting the use of planning on 6 different (real-world and super exciting) projects. I was impressed by the sense of practical use of planning people have here, and how open they are to learn and use our tools. I’ll tell you more when we meet.
